The more the learn about the gut, the more we realize how important it is to our health. Studies show it is linked to the immune system, mental health, endocrine disorders, inflammation, cardiovascular health, maintaining our weight, and more. Our gut, also known as our gastrointestinal (GI) tract, is full of trillions of bacteria known as the microbiome. When our gut is out of balance, we are at risk of disorders and illness. Yet, lifestyle choices can help us keep our gut health in check.
