I bring you bite-sized healthy living tips and conversations with experts in nutrition, fitness, mental health, medicine, and more.

My entire life has been dedicated to helping others learn more and live better. As a fitness instructor, radio host, and health reporter for more than 30 years, I am blessed to do what I love - share important information for everyone to take steps to live a little healthier...one listener at a time.

The holidays will certainly be different this year due to the pandemic. Many of us will be celebrating at home with fewer people around the dinner table. For me, it will be the first time I am preparing Thanksgiving dinner for my immediate family only. I would like to make healthier versions of some of our traditional holiday favorites. Courtney McCormick is a Registered Dietitian and Manager, Clinical Research & Nutrition at Nutrisystem. She shares some tips and tricks on healthy holiday eating.
Courtney McCormick is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and currently serves as the Manager, Clinical Research & Nutrition for Nutrisystem, Inc. In this role, she supports the nutritional strategy and clinical research for the Nutrisystem and South Beach Diet brands.
Courtney received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University and earned her master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Courtney has focused most of her career in dietetics working in the area of weight management. She has worked and volunteered in various settings including healthcare, schools, and industry. Now, at Nutrisystem, she works within Product Development to bring to market evidence-based, innovative products that help support adults in managing a healthy weight.

Cydney Savage, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor, and Director of Integrated Care at AtlantiCare Behavioral Health. She oversees behavioral therapy services in AtlantiCare Physician Group’s (APG) Primary Care practices and provides counseling and other individual services to adults and adolescents in those practices. Her 30-year career has included leadership and clinical roles in AtlantiCare’s Adult outpatient, Child and Adolescent Outpatient, and the Certified Community Behavioral Clinic. She’s actively involved in AtlantiCare’s Employee Resource Groups, which focus on raising awareness about the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The work of these groups includes identifying and solving disparities in healthcare. Cyd holds a Master of Arts degree in art therapy and professional counseling from Marywood University, Scranton, PA; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in related arts with a minor in psychology from Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA.

In 2007, Victorianne Russell Walton found a lump in her breast at the age of 48. After several negative tests, she still felt something was not right. With a long history of breast cancer in her family, Victorianne knew she was in a high-risk group. After several more tests, they discovered cancer in the fatty tissue of her breast. Her persistence saved her life. Eleven years later, the breast cancer came back and she fought again. In the midst of it all, she had a baby at the age of 51! Her message - be your own health advocate. Here is her story of strength, courage, and tenacity.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One in eight women will get breast cancer in the U.S. Are you up-to-date on your mammogram? Many people have been putting off important screenings due to the pandemic, but our health does not wait and neither should our healthcare. There are many protocols and guidelines in place to keep us safe. Anjeanette Brown, MD, Breast Surgeon at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center discusses the new 3D mammograms, breast MRI, the importance of screenings, and how to reduce our risk of breast cancer.
Dr. Anjeanette Brown is a board-certified general surgeon with a special interest in breast health. She is a member of the prestigious American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, and The American Society of Breast Surgeons.
After completing her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Brown served four years in the United States Navy. She served as the general medical officer onboard a combat support ship for over 600 enlisted and naval officers. After deployment, she served as the squadron doctor at Naval Weapons Station Earle, in Colts Neck NJ. Dr. Brown also served on board the USNS Comfort, a medical treatment facility activated to provide support during rescue operations in New York City following the attacks on September 11, 2001.
Following her service, Dr. Brown completed surgical training as a general surgery resident at Hahnemann University Hospital and completed a Society of Surgical Oncology Breast Surgery fellowship at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Dr. Brown was also nominated and selected as one of the region’s Top 40 under 40 most dynamic young leaders by Atlantic City Weekly.
Dr. Brown is passionate about patient care, as well as educating others about the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer. With continuous research and mentoring, she has published several abstracts and has presented at multiple surgical conferences and events.
